Celebrating 150 Years of Treaty 6

2026 marks 150 years of the signing of Treaty 6. As we honour Treaty 6, remember that reconciliation is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing commitment to learning, respect, collaboration, and improving health outcomes of Indigenous Peoples.

Honouring Treaty 6 is also honouring the Treaty 6 Medicine Chest Clause

  • The Medicine Chest Clause is widely understood as a commitment to supporting First Nations health and well-being.
  • Honoring its spirit means reducing barriers to care and improving health service access.
  • Focuses on addressing health inequities and advancing Indigenous health and wellness.
  • Guided by Indigenous advisory groups, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers.
Recognizes health as a treaty responsibility rooted in respect, care, and human dignity.

For more information, on local events in your area, visit the Office of the Treaty Commissioner or Tourism Saskatchewan websites.

Staff Safety Talk - What to Report?

Today's report could prevent tomorrow's injury.

Good catches and near misses identify risks before someone gets hurt, while Staff Safety Incident reports help identify how to prevent future injuries. If you see a safety concern, donโ€™t wait for harm to happen, report it early so action can be taken.

Learn more about what to report in this week's Staff Safety Talk.
