By sharing lessons from their own lived experiences, peer support team members offer practical, goal-oriented mentorship, empathy, and mutual understanding to foster a hope for recovery. “As a society, we value the perspectives and ideas of others who have shared similar experiences. The same is true when it comes to health care, including mental health and addictions challenges. There is value in connecting with peers who have been through something similar,” said Tracey Mitchell, Senior Health Educator, Mental Health and Addictions Services. Visit our peer support website to find referral information, service locations, mental health and addictions support resources, and real examples of how peer support improves health outcomes in our province. 🔗 Peer Support | Fall immunization clinics now open!SHA staff are encouraged to get immunized this fall to help protect themselves, their patients, their colleagues and their loved ones throughout respiratory illness season.
