The Fraser Highway One-Way Project will improve the area for our businesses, residents, and visitors. It includes replacing aging underground infrastructure and revitalizing the Fraser One-Way with more greenery, new gathering spaces, and better pedestrian amenities.

This newsletter aims to keep businesses and residents informed of planned, ongoing, and completed work.

Current Status: Phase 2 of construction

The second phase of the project on Fraser Highway between Salt Lane and 204 Street is underway. As construction progresses, additional updates will be shared.

Completed work

Installation of tree grates

Tree gates surround the base of the tree underground to protect it from damage.

Fun Fact: 85 new trees and 630 shrubs will be planted along Fraser Highway to enhance the area.

Ongoing and upcoming works

Installation of BC Hydro electrical infrastructure

New underground BC Hydro infrastructure is being installed to help improve electrical servicing for the area.

Road surface removal

The asphalt and concrete road surfaces between 204 Street and Salt Lane will be removed in preparation for their replacement.

Concrete sidewalk forms

The temporary wooden moulds for the new concrete sidewalks will be installed to prepare for concrete pouring and curing. This will help shape concrete as it hardens.

Things to know as construction continues

Construction will generally occur during the day, but some work may take place on weekends or at night. Noisy construction activities won’t be allowed at night. Learn more about the City's Noise Control Bylaw.

As construction continues, vibrations will occur.

• Limited off-street parking is available between Salt Lane and 206 Street.

Work progress dates are based on anticipated construction schedules and may change as work continues.

Businesses are open
