Follow these fire safety tips to light up the night without igniting the lights: - Some lights are meant only for indoor or outdoor use. Products marked for indoor use are not designed to hold up against the elements.
- It’s not a good idea to connect different types of light strings together. For example, don’t plug in a new LED string to your old incandescent light string.
- Inspect light strings/set and extension cords before use, and discard any that show signs of wear or damage.
- Always turn off indoor lights before leaving home or going to bed.

Holiday supports | | Hort News: Black Knot Horticulture Hotline: 403-995-6333 Black knot is a fungal disease found on Schubert chokecherry, western (native) chokecherry and mayday trees. If diseased tissue is removed, they are unlikely to die from this disease. The fungus is easy to see in the fall/winter; look for swellings on branches that are hard, brownish black lumps. Prune out the fungus below the infection and dispose of. The Town also has reminders to help you get your yard ready for winter. Shout out to all the friendly neighbours helping each other out there. Remember - keep fire hydrants clear and house numbers visible when shovelling.
