New BodyWorks Fitness Classes!

We are excited to annouce our new lunch time classes at BodyWorks! These classes will be available for our upcoming Spring 2020 session. 

Tuesdays 12:00-12:45 SPIN 

Thurdays 12:00-12:45 Changing Aging 

Fridays 12:00-12:45 CFIT 

Saturdays 10:00-11:00 CFIT 

Meet our BodyWorks Staff

Meet Liam, one of our staff in BodyWorks! He's a group exercise instructor and personal trainer! 

Outside of BodyWorks, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and working out. With the rest of his time he is studying or findings new spots to eat around Vancouver.

Please feel free to ask him some fitness related questions next time you see him in BodyWorks. 

UBC BodyWorks Public Lecture 

BodyWorks would like to annouce our first public lecture: Nutrition to support Active Aging!

Date: Thursday March 19, 2020

Time: 7:15pm - 8:00pm

Location: Osborne centre Unit 1, Room 203

Presenter: Dr. Mitchell - Assistant Professor for the School of Kinesiology & BodyWorks Outreach Advisor

Topics will include: How much protein do I really need? I go to BodyWorks three times per week, how come I have not lost any weight. This sounds complicated , is there any nutritional recommendations everyone agrees on? Along with topics by BodyWorks members 

Travelling Health Fair

BodyWorks staff and management were out around campus during this year’s annual travel fair for staff and faculty! We provided free one-on-one health screens for physical activity and provided some great tips and tricks on how to get moving throughout the day- even when you think you don’t have time!

Free 30 Minutes Consult/Assessment 

Did you miss out of the travel fair? No need to worry! We offer FREE 30 minute fitness consults/assessments for anyone who wants more information about what is best for them!

If you are feeling like you need a kick-start to your next fitness goals, call our Registration office to book in a free session with one of our trainers! Let us help you get on the right track!

BodyWorks Healthy Tip 

Healthy tip: Parking further away from destinations, or walking faster between locations can help increase the amount of time or intensity required to achieve the minimum 150 minutes of moderate-vigorous intensity per week!. Needing some more ideas on how to increase your intensity? Ask one of our front desk attendans in our fitness centre!
