CHRISTMAS SEASON ADVERTISING, 2019 FOR PARISHES

DEADLINE: November 15, 2019

The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa’s Christmas season advertising campaign allows parishes to reach the readers of local newspapers with a minimum of effort and expense. Information supplied by participating parishes will be included in a Synod office-organized ad in city and regional newspapers during the week before Christmas. Parishes wishing to “tag on” their service time-and-place information should complete by November 15, 2019

Bishop's New Appointee

Bishop Chapman is very pleased to announce his appointment of Carol Sinclair, B.A., B.Ed., M.A., as the new full-time Diocesan Human Resources Manager, effective November 4, 2019. Carol brings over 30 years’ experience leading organization development and human resources initiatives with businesses undergoing transformational change, most recently for VON Canada, Ferguslea Properties, Kingston General Hospital, and The Royal Ottawa Hospital. She feels very drawn to the ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa as it resonates with her deep commitment to making the world a better place. Carol will be a member of the Executive Staff of the Diocese reporting to the Bishop.

Boutique Cornerstone

Boutique Cornerstone is a POP UP SALE of gently used, fashionable women’s clothing. Cornerstone provides emergency shelter and safe affordable permanent housing for women in Ottawa. 100% net proceeds of the sale will provide much needed funding for the emergency shelter and Living rough on the streets takes a serious toll on a woman’s body, health and spirit. Oftentimes, women experience chronic illness and malnutrition.

Cornerstone has the budget for only $4.27 for each woman to eat every day, three times a day and to accommodate up to 61 women each night.They serve three meals a day. Of the $326,000 that they raise every year for critical shelter needs, almost one-third is for food costs.

It is our hope that you will come and support this new social enterprise to raise much needed funds to support the emergency shelter of Cornerstone.

Marriage Preparation Courses:

Next course date: Friday, Nov 15-16, 2019 

Our marriage preparation courses are designed to help participants to learn and grow through presentations given by professional speakers, small group discussions with trained facilitators, and couple conversations. All couples are welcome and participation is not limited by gender, age, or previous marital status.Small groups are designed so that couples with shared experience may benefit from conversations with one another. Topics such as step-parenting and blending families will be addressed in small group sessions, where appropriate.
