The Fraser Highway One-Way Project will improve the area for our businesses, residents, and visitors. It includes replacing aging underground infrastructure and revitalizing the Fraser One-Way with more greenery, new gathering spaces, and better pedestrian amenities.

New garbage and organic bins rolling out soon

Starting July 9, 2025, and for the following weeks, single-family homes and non-strata townhomes will begin receiving their new garbage and organic bins.

The first collection using the new bins begins on or after August 1. Collection days will remain the same.

Ongoing and upcoming works

Installation of BC Hydro infrastructure 

New underground electrical BC Hydro infrastructure is being installed along the One-Way, with work moving into Fuller Lane next week.

Quick Fact: This underground installation will allow the removal of the wooden poles along the One-Way.

Installation of tree grates

To hold the trees that will be planted along the One-Way, new tree grates are being installed as part of the area improvements.

Quick Fact: Over 85 new street trees will be planted as part of the project.

Installation of silva cells

To support the healthy growth of new trees, silva cells are being installed underground to improve the water supply to the trees.

Quick Fact: Silva cells help grow healthy trees by holding soil and water and providing space for the roots to grow.


 

Things to know as construction continues

Construction will generally occur during the day, but some work may take place on weekends or at night. Noisy construction activities won’t be allowed at night.

As construction continues, vibrations will occur.

• Limited off-street parking is available between Salt Lane and 206 Street.

Work progress dates are based on anticipated construction schedules and may change as work continues.


 

Businesses are open

Access to businesses along the one-way Fraser Highway will remain open. Customers can enter through the front doors of all establishments

Traffic control signs and personnel will ensure the safe passage of pedestrians and vehicles during construction.

• Some parking will be available on the One-Way between 206 Street and Salt Lane.

• Langley City Hall: 37 free parking stalls
