Spring is officially here!!! The month of May traditionally signifies the end of the academic year, the commencement of summer employment, and most importantly, the onset of warmer weather. It is a true changing of the seasons; and with those changes come brand new opportunities. For me, those opportunities have included taking advantage of the warmer weather and being outdoors as much as possible. With my trusty sidekick, Watson (a funny looking Corgi mix) by my side, we’ve made a goal of exploring as many local hikes as possible – Knox Mountain, Stephens Coyote Ridge, Rose Valley, Crawford Falls, Scenic Canyon, Angel Springs, etc. It’s truly amazing how quickly you can leave the city behind by driving only a few kilometers. In just a few weeks, we’ve been able to find some stunning hikes, and there are many more on the list that we are ready to tackle – Watson could hike for days!
The Athletics & Recreation Department will continue to provide a variety of services throughout the summer, including some brand-new programs, such as Golf Lessons, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Learn to Run, DIY Sign Painting, and more! Additionally, our virtual programs will continue to be available for those that are not on campus.
And, if you need a bit of support from a four-legged friend, stop by the Customer Service Desk on Fridays – Watson would love some belly rubs.
Cheers,
Jackie – Customer Service Coordinator
