The Alumni Association pledges historic gift to establish the BCIT Alumni Centre

The BCIT Alumni Association is proud to announce its largest-ever donation of $1 million to develop the first-ever Alumni Centre. The space, which is now being designed within the new Student Hub building on the Burnaby campus, will be dedicated to fostering the success of BCIT alumni in British Columbia and around the globe.

"On behalf of the Alumni Association, I am proud to pledge $1 million to the BCIT INSPIRE Campaign," says BCIT Alumni Assocation President Emil Bosnjak. "Like countless alumni, I have experienced how an applied education from BCIT sets our graduates apart as problem-solving innovators, creators, and leaders that our world needs now more than ever before. The Association is pleased to support our current and future alumni with this gift."

Province invests in new student housing at BCIT

Future BCIT students will have access to hundreds of new, affordable, and environmentally friendly on-campus housing beds. Melanie Mark, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Training, announced the student housing project at BCIT, valued at nearly $115 million. The Province is investing $108.8 million towards BCIT’s new student housing project, part of the government’s 30-point plan on housing. Read more.

Indigenous grads inspire brighter futures and stronger communities

Congratulations to these three inspiring BCIT alumni. Welding Foundation grad Victoria Dupuis overcame financial and health challenges to graduate; Computer Systems Technology alum Rob Schulz launched a platform to support Indigenous-owned businesses; and Brandon Darbyshire-Joseph is helping a community build a better life as an elected member of the Squamish Nation Council.
