Open Fire Ban in Effect

Following a Provincial order, the City of Nanaimo will be prohibiting open fires effective noon Thursday, June 8th.

With hotter weather comes an increased risk of fire spreading quickly. It is important for residents to be vigilant in fire safety and to report all fires immediately by calling 911.

Splash into Summer!

As we head into another week of warm weather, take the opportunity to visit one of our four water parks in Nanaimo, located at Deverill Square Park, Departure Bay Kiwanis Park, Harewood Centennial Park and Mansfield Park.

In addition to our water parks a misting station is located at Maffeo Sutton Park, a perfect way to cool down after playing at our new inclusive playground or enjoying a walk along the waterfront.

Water park hours are 9 am to 8 pm, seven days a week.
