Coyote Breeding Season

The Conservation Officer Service and the District of Squamish are advising the public to be aware and take precautions as coyotes enter their breeding season.

During this time of year, coyotes may follow or attempt to "escort" you (and your dog) away from their territory as they work to protect it.

Please report all wildlife conflicts to the Conservation Officer Service 24-hour Report All Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) hotline at 1-877-952-7277 (RAPP).

Café - Expression of Interest

The District of Squamish is seeking expressions of interest for a café space at 1009 Centennial Way (Brennan Park Recreation Centre).

2026 Dog Licences - Save by Renewing Before Jan 31

An account number is required in order to renew your licence online. The account number is found on your renewal notice. If you need assistance, please contact Community Bylaw Services at bylaw@squamish.ca.

Residents can renew their dog licences for a discounted fee before January 31. The January 31 discount date is set by bylaw and is the same date each year.

Dog licences may also be renewed in-person at Municipal Hall and the RCMP Detachment Front Counter (1000 Finch Drive) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Seeking Applications for Board of Variance Members

We are looking for two new members to fill three‑year terms on the Squamish Board of Variance and encourages interested members of the public to apply. Terms will end December 31, 2028.

Boards of Variance in B.C. sit to consider applications from property owners requesting variances to zoning and land use bylaws. The Squamish Board of Variance meets quarterly on the third Wednesday of March, June, September, and December at 6:30 p.m., if an application is received. Additional meetings may be scheduled with approval of a sufficient number of board members.

Application forms are available at Municipal Hall and on our website: squamish.ca/board-and-panel-meetings. Please submit an application form and resume no later than Friday, February 6 at 4:30 pm.

Low-level Flying

Blackcomb Helicopters will be performing low-level flying over Brackendale for Marker Ball Replacements on BC Hydro lines from February 2 to 8. Work is taking place during daylight hours as per special authorization issued by Transport Canada.

Traffic Impact Notice: Skyline Drive

Please expect changes to traffic patterns, including full lane closures on Skyline Drive on February 4. During closures, a detour will be in place via Highlands Way South during work hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.—bike lane will still be accessible.

This work involves decommission and installation of a new water line. Please follow signage and directions from traffic personnel. Thank you for your patience and understanding as this work is completed.

  • Xwu’nekw Park Sea Dike upgrades continue.

Family Yoga
at Brennan Park Recreation Centre

Yoga and breathwork are intertwined with stories, games and songs to engage families in the practice of yoga together! Suitable for children of all ages. Registration includes the cost of one child, and one adult or caregiver. Children under one are free with a registered sibling. Drop-ins welcome, space permitting.


Zumba Toning with Taeko
at The 55 Activity Centre

Zumba toning incorporates the use of sticks to add an element of strength training to familiar dance moves; enhances sense of rhythm and coordination while toning target zones including arms, core, and lower body. Drop-ins welcome, space permitting.​​​​​​​


Yoga Flow
Thursday, February 5, 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Brennan Park Recreation Centre

Move n’ Groove is a fun, low-pressure dance fitness class blending easy-to-follow choreography with basic conditioning exercises. Expect upbeat music, laughter and a feel-good sweat!


Field Allocation Meeting - Date Change!

A Field Allocation Meeting will now be held on February 4, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Brennan Park Recreation Centre. A calendar will be posted online no later than February 16, 2026.

Season 1: March 1–August 31, 2026

Fields: Centennial Fields (1–4, 7, 8), Field 5 (Homer Dome), Field 6 (LaRoy Watt), Hendrickson Fields, Artificial Turf, Howe Sound Secondary Community Field, and Beer Garden or Tournament use within the District of Squamish.
