Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada: Release 2.0

The National Collaborating Centres for Public Health, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada, engaged extensively with the Canadian public health community to develop The Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada: Release 2.0. Core competencies are the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for the practice of public health.

The final document, available in French and English, includes 64 core competency statements organized into 10 categories and can be found on the National Collaborating Centres for Public Health website here. To support the understanding and application of the core competencies, a glossary of relevant terms foundational to the practice of public health in Canada is included in the document.
