FMCBC 2022 Annual General Meeting - Save the Date!

The 2022 FMCBC AGM will be held in Squamish, BC over the June 24 - 26 weekend! Our thanks to the North Shore Hikers for hosting this in-person event.

The AGM is open to FMCBC directors, club reps and members. It is a chance to share ideas, build partnerships and help shape the future of both the FMCBC and non-motorized outdoor recreation in BC! There will be great activities planned, including social events and opportunities to explore the local trails.

The FMCBC covers travel costs (per km rate for car travel plus ferry or bridge tolls) for FMCBC directors and for club representatives. All other FMCBC members are welcome to attend the meeting and participate in the weekend events, but travel costs are only covered by the FMCBC for those people attending as representatives of their clubs.

More details, including the registration form, will be released as soon as they're available. Please note that billeting will not be offered this year due to ongoing caution around communicable disease protocols. A list of local accomodations will be included in AGM information emails.

Mountain Matters

Mountain Mentors

Mountain Mentors is pleased to announce the launch of their Summer Season, with Rock Climbing Mentorship and Hiking Mentorship Programs. Each season, we pair Mentees and Mentors in a 1:1 pairing. and provide the programming necessary to empower pairs to define their intentions and objectives and to experience growth.

In addition to one-on-one mentorships, at the heart of what we do is community. Our program offerings seek to energize, deepen, strengthen, and grow community both in our cohort and broader outdoors community. Our programming is offered to marginalized genders including women, women-identifying individuals, and non-binary and gender non-conforming people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women in the outdoors. We recognize and acknowledge the intersection of race and gender identities and it is our hope that we can provide programming that is inclusive and accessible.

If you are looking for a community committed to self-development and support, in the backcountry and beyond, then this is the space for you. Applications close midnight on April 18th. You can apply for Mentee or Mentor positions here.
