Welcome to the 'Multidimensional Mental Health' Edition of Myles Ahead's curated Educator Resources. We hope the first back-to-school days have brought many healthy ways for you and your students to safely settle into a good groove.

To help with this, the links below include recommended resources for continuing to navigate National Suicide Prevention Month this September. In addition to supporting your mental health needs, thank you for all that you do inside the classroom, and beyond, to support child and youth mental health.

Resources:

  1. Provided by School Mental Health Ontario, the Student Mental Health Action Kit helps to support mental health for students, and it also includes a tip sheet with self-care reminders for you.
  2. Jigsaw developed a Youth Mental Health & Wellbeing Toolkit for Schools to support the development of mental health literacy of youth, including guidance on how to help students manage their mental health and develop help-seeking skills.
  3. In this animated short by RSA, BrenĂ© Brown clarifies how empathy can be a key way to cultivate connection, helping to ease someone's pain and suffering.
