Winter is upon us!

The first snow has already fallen and the celcius degrees are slowly dropping. It's definitely time to prepare for the cold season. In the following topics, you will find some reminders and important information about winter.

OVERNIGHT PARKING

Overnight parking in winter

From December 1 to March 31, overnight parking on public roads is prohibited, unless otherwise specified. To find out if the ban is lifted for the night, consult the Info-Snow section of the website or call 514-457-1001, as of 4 p.m., daily.

The decision whether or not to lift the ban depends on weather conditions and on snow, ice or other operations planned by the Public Works Department.

It is the responsibility of all vehicle owners to consult daily updates before parking their car on the street for the night. If the ban is not clearly lifted, the current regulation (no. 769) is applied and violators risk the fines provided for in the regulation.

OUTDOOR SKATING RINKS

Outdoor skating rinks

The City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is happy to announce that directives from the Direction générale de la santé publique du Québec allow us to open the outdoor rinks this winter.

The rinks in Parc Aumais and Parc Harpell will therefore be open as soon as the weather permits.

It will be possible to skate while respecting a physical distance of two meters between people or family bubbles.

In the red zone, organized activities are prohibited. The practice of hockey will have to be done alone or in pairs. The park chalets will be accessible only for the washrooms.

Access to the skates room will only be allowed when the city is back in the orange zone. Compliance with health instructions (masks, physical distancing, etc.) will have to be applied.
