First lab-confirmed case of Influenza A in region: HCPs urged to order flu vaccine

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has received laboratory confirmation of its first case of Influenza A for the 2023-24 flu season. The flu can lead to serious complications that can result in a hospital stay, especially among seniors and young children.

Health care providers are urged to order influenza vaccine as soon as possible if they have not done so already. The general population is currently eligible for influenza vaccine.
