Therapeutic Botox®

Did you know Dr. McGee is certified in Therapeutic Botox®?

Therapeutic Botox® is a special injection treatment for migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), TMJ syndrome (teeth clenching/grinding), chronic neck pain and even depression.

During the treatment, Dr. McGee injects the necessary amount of Botox® into the muscle tissue. Patients should feel little to no pain depending on the area of the injection site, their general pain threshold, and whether any topical anesthetic is applied to the skin prior to the treatment.

While there are some immediate results after the injection, it typically takes 2-3 days before you will see the full effects of the treatment. Your body needs time to fully absorb the Botox® as it blocks the signals between the nerves and the muscles in order to prevent movement.

For migraine treatment, Botox® is injected around the nerve endings in the head that lead to migraines. The Botox® relaxes these nerve endings, blocking communication between the chemicals and the brain’s headache pain networks. Patients can experience relief from headaches for up to 10-12 weeks after just a single treatment.

For excessive sweating, Botox® is injected in the areas of excessive sweating (palms or arm pits), which relaxes the nerves responsible for beginning sweat production. Results are so effective that after the Botox® patients can experience complete dryness for several months.

Botox® injections may help neck pain by relaxing neck muscles, depression by relaxing frown lines which leads to facial feedback and an improved mood. And Botox® helps with teeth grinding/clenching by relaxing the jaw muscle involved with nighttime grinding.

Botox® injections for migraines and hyperhidrosis are actually Health Canada and FDA-approved. Your benefit plans may cover this treatment with pre-approval.

Please book a screening with Dr. McGee to discuss if Therapeutic Botox® is for you.

IV Ozone therapy for Baterial Infections

IV Ozone therapy for Bacterial Infections - now offered at White Rock location!

We, as a global community, are becoming more and more resistant to commonly prescribed antibiotics. Because of this, researchers are swinging back to older effective therapies to treat bacterial infections. The world is facing a resurgence of infectious disease deaths due to organisms that have otherwise been easily dispatched in the early days of antibiotics. News reports and published science are dubbing it the “end of the antibiotic era”.

IV Ozone therapy has been used in medicine since World War I. However, it is not patentable and has suffered from a lack of private source funding for research sufficient to have it accepted by the mainstream. There are numerous studies which attest to its powerful anti-microbial effect and resurgence in the world of infectious disease.

Ozone therapy as a primary and sole treatment for acute bacterial infection: case report.

Arming the Immune System: The Incredible Power of Natural Immunity & the Fever Response

I wrote this book as a public service announcement! This book is for everyone. It is available at both clinic locations and via this link: https://books2read.com/Arming-the-Immune-System

99.997% of people infected by SARS Covid-2 worldwide did not die, why? Over 97% of people tested for the virus in Canada were not positive, meaning they had symptoms due to one of the other >1000 viruses that cause flu-like symptoms. Why do healthy children typically manage this infection with only mild symptoms? Why are the people that get severe infections typically the elderly, obese, and immunocompromised? How have humans survived for all of our existence on earth despite the thousands of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites always trying to infect us?

Unfortunately, the majority of Canadians have received their “knowledge” about SARS Covid-2 from the media. Rather than using fear, I am hoping to use facts and knowledge to help readers discover the power of their natural immunity. Learn why we should allow our bodies to run their intelligent health maintenance immune programs. As they are more effective at eliminating invaders than any military on earth. Discover that fever is an essential part of the immune response and is found throughout the animal kingdom. Learn how hard our bodies are working just to maintain our body temperature, and what happens when our internal thermostat intelligently and purposefully shifts up the heat.

The fever response has developed over millions of years, slowly perfecting its orchestral brilliance over that time. In this book I share stories of bees who make an effort to fever together, lizards who lounge around trying to get a fever, kids who've had chickenpox longer than their peers because they took medicine to stop their fever, and, incredibly, people whose cancer completely disappeared after a fever.

Also explore how can we actually use fever therapeutically and harness it for our benefit. Fever therapy has been used for a long time with sometimes incredible results. For example, we will review the malarial fevers used to treat neurosyphilis that won Dr. Julius Wagner-Juaregg the 1927 Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology. Perhaps more impressive were the cancer treatments of Dr. William Coley (who used bacteria) and Dr. Nina Klyuyeva (who used a parasite).

I'm happy to be sharing this important, age-old knowledge, especially at this time in the world. Inspired by the tireless efforts of the scientific and medical communities, I'm optimistic that this book will help spark conversation and change. Bringing together ancient wisdom and new understanding. We can all play a role in the guardianship of the fever response, providing this knowledge to our children, and they theirs. Trust the wisdom inherent in your body, arm your immune system, and share the incredible power of the fever response. Because when we honour our bodies, we can be sick less, get better faster, and live healthier lives.

Iron Deficiency

Iron deficiency, with or without anemia, is common in pregnant women. Nearly 30% of reproductive-age women are anemic worldwide, and anemia in pregnancy has an estimated global prevalence of 38%.

In addition to the negative effects on fetal brain development that come with iron deficiency in pregnancy, iron-deficient mothers experience a twofold increased incidence of preterm birth, and a threefold increase in low-birth-weight babies, all of which are associated with poorer neurodevelopmental outcomes.
