Aerodrome traffic frequency at La Tuque (CYLQ)

Nav Canada has published in an AIP Supplement (42/22) that effective July 14, 2022, the Aerodrome Traffic Frequency (ATF) at La Tuque Aerodrome, Quebec [CYLQ] changed from 122.8MHz to 122.325MHz.

Consequently, the ATF of the neighboring hydroaerodromes of La Tuque (Quebec) [CTH6] and Lac-à-Beauce (Quebec) [CSS7] also changes to 122.325 MHz (see image above).

These changes went into effect July 14, 2022 at 0901 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Relevant aeronautical publications will be amended accordingly.

Seaplane accident : Shawinigan

It is with sadness that we learned of the death of René Martel, a member of Aviateurs. Quebec and the Mauricie Pilots Association, in a seaplane accident in Shawinigan last Sunday.

We offer our most sincere condolences to his family and all his friends. Courage to all in this ordeal.

RIP René.

Safety capsule: Density altitude
Video: Flight Chops

We have already presented this capsule and the video to you, but we believe that a little reminder in these times of intense heat may be a good idea.

Phew! 32 C, 40 felt! That means it will be hot and humid. Do you know the impact of this kind of temperature on the performance of your device?

Watch the video to find out more.

2nd Aéro Brousse Nilgaut, July 29, 30 and 31, 2022
A contribution by Patrick Vergobbi

François and the Friends of the Nilgaut Aerodrome are waiting for you for the 2nd Aéro Brousse Nilgaut, on July 29, 30 and 31, 2022.

Saturday, July 30 at noon: a BBQ and bottled water will be offered

The Lac Nilgaut aerodrome is a strip that exactly meets the definition of a bush strip, isolated, with a sand surface and garnotte, in the middle of the forest, surrounded by fairly tall trees. The place is attractive for wild camping under the wing or to spend a nice day picnicking. The track is bypassed by the Nilgaut stream to the east and by the Black River to the west, these two rivers are accessible within walking distance.

On the subject of photo resolution… most “smart” phones take photos in acceptable resolution and even “high” resolution. But often, the email software used is set to send only low resolution previews. This can be corrected by the user… You can also go through a manipulation by copying the photo and pasting it into the message. It is also possible to use WeTransfer, MailDrop from Apple, Google Drive in Gmail or OneDrive from Microsoft.

THE IMPORTANT is:

  • Give a TITLE to the photo
  • Give the full NAME of the PHOTOGRAPHER
  • Give YOUR full NAME
  • Give your member NUMBER (IN RULE).

For the rest, we will consider that you have read and accepted the rules when you participate...
