Two Important Milestones Captured in One Picture

First, 2026 marks Gilbert's 40th anniversary. Since its founding in 1986, Gilbert has grown from a family business into a recognized leader in manufacturing solutions for the forestry, construction, and sawmill industries. Four decades later, the Gilbert family remains deeply involved in the company's success and future.

As part of this milestone year, Gilbert is proud to welcome the next generation into the business. Audrey Gilbert and Frank Gilbert are actively contributing to the company's growth and helping carry forward the values, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit that have defined Gilbert for the past 40 years.

To celebrate this important anniversary, several activities are planned throughout the year, including a family celebration in June and a public open house event this fall. These occasions will provide an opportunity to recognize the employees, customers, partners, and families who have contributed to Gilbert's success over the years.

The photo also highlights another proud achievement: our employees gathered beside a newly completed Gilbert Planer destined for Bennett Lumber Products in Princeton, Idaho. This machine reflects the dedication, expertise, and craftsmanship of our team, whose work continues to support lumber producers across North America.

As we celebrate 40 years of innovation and look toward the future, we remain grateful to our employees, customers, and partners who continue to make Gilbert's success possible.

--------------- GILBERT NEWS

Fast Response Helps Grayson Lumber Return to Production

At Gilbert, supporting our customers when they need us most is a core part of our commitment.

This past May, Gilbert demonstrated its ability to respond quickly and effectively when Grayson Lumber in Alabama faced an urgent need for a planer replacement. To minimize downtime and help the mill return to full production as quickly as possible, the Gilbert team mobilized immediately.

By adapting a planer already in production at our facility, Gilbert was able to significantly accelerate delivery timelines. Working closely with Mill Manager Mal Heaton and his team, Gilbert developed a complete turnkey solution that included the supply of the planer as well as the coordination of mechanical and electrical installation services.

Through strong collaboration, careful planning, and rapid execution, the new planer was installed and commissioned within an exceptionally short timeframe, allowing Grayson Lumber to resume operations with minimal disruption.

The project highlights Gilbert's flexibility, manufacturing capabilities, and dedication to customer service. From engineering and production to installation and start-up, every department worked together to ensure a successful outcome.

According to Mal Heaton, the speed of execution and the quality of workmanship exceeded expectations. The successful completion of this project reflects Gilbert's commitment to delivering reliable solutions and helping customers keep their operations running efficiently.

We would like to thank Grayson Lumber and Mal Heaton for their trust and collaboration throughout this project and look forward to supporting their continued success.

Meet Gilbert at the Timber Processing & Energy Expo 2026

Gilbert is pleased to announce its participation in the Timber Processing & Energy Expo taking place September 23–25, 2026, in Portland, Oregon.

Recognized as one of the premier events for the wood products and timber processing industries, TPEE brings together industry leaders, mill operators, equipment suppliers, and forestry professionals from across North America.

At this year's show, Gilbert will showcase its largest high-speed planer model, featuring the latest-generation grip system technology designed to maximize production, improve lumber handling, and deliver superior planing performance.

The machine on display will also demonstrate Gilbert's capability to efficiently process lumber up to 16 inches wide, offering mills greater flexibility to meet evolving market demands and product specifications.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about Gilbert's innovative splitting module. Installed directly after the planer, this advanced system allows operators to plane and split lumber in a single production flow, creating additional value-added products while maximizing fiber utilization and profitability.

By combining high-speed planing with integrated splitting capabilities, mills can increase production efficiency and unlock new revenue opportunities from the same raw material resource.

Our team will be available throughout the event to discuss your mill's production goals, operational challenges, and future equipment needs. Whether you are planning a mill upgrade, evaluating new technologies, or exploring ways to improve productivity, we would be pleased to meet with you.

We look forward to seeing our customers, partners, and industry colleagues in Portland this September.

Interested in meeting with the Gilbert team during the show? Contact us in advance to schedule a meeting and learn how Gilbert's planer technology can help maximize your mill's performance and profitability.

--------------- TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

More Than Planers: Discover Gilbert's Silo Reclaimer Solutions

In the sawmilling industry, Gilbert is widely recognized for its complete line of planer equipment, ranging from moulders and glulam planers to some of the fastest and most advanced high-speed planers on the market.

But did you know that Gilbert also designs and manufactures silo reclaimer systems?

Don't Leave Valuable Material Behind

The Gilbert Silo Reclaimer is designed to maximize the efficiency of sawmill and biomass storage systems by ensuring that valuable residue is consistently recovered and conveyed. Built for reliability and durability, the system helps operators fully utilize silo capacity while maintaining a constant and controlled material flow.

Whether handling wood residues, biomass, or other bulk materials, the Gilbert Silo Reclaimer delivers dependable performance in demanding operating environments.

Designed for Efficiency

The system is engineered to operate effectively even when material conditions become challenging. Equipped with a constant torque mechanism, the reclaimer can slow down to break up material lumps before automatically resuming normal operation. Available in both single-screw and double-screw configurations, it can be adapted to a wide variety of materials and applications. Installation options above or below the silo floor provide additional flexibility for existing or new facilities.

Fully Electric Operation

Unlike hydraulic systems, the Gilbert Silo Reclaimer is fully electric, reducing energy consumption while simplifying operation. Eliminating hydraulics also improves workplace safety and reduces maintenance requirements.

Enhanced Safety and Reliability

The robust design minimizes maintenance interventions and reduces exposure to potential hazards associated with more complex material handling systems. Operators benefit from a safer, more reliable solution that keeps material moving efficiently.

Simple and User-Friendly

Designed with mill operators in mind, the Gilbert Silo Reclaimer requires very little maintenance, helping facilities reduce downtime and focus on production.

From planers to material handling systems, Gilbert continues to provide innovative solutions that help sawmills and biomass operations improve efficiency, maximize recovery, and increase profitability.
