Empathy and Beyond ❤️

For the month of November, the theme of empathy is the focus of Myles Ahead’s educator resources. This week’s resources are called Empathy and Beyond, which includes a variety of relevant lesson plans and activities. In addition, acknowledging that Treaties Recognition Week (November 5-11); Inuit Day (November 7); National Indigenous Veterans’ Day (November 8); and Remembrance Day (November 11), there are related resources included.

Educator Resources:

In honour of Treaties and Recognition Week, below are a selection of resources:
- Executive produced by Patricia Makokis, Treaty Talk: Sharing the River of Life is an excellent documentary to better understand and honour treaties; the film also has supporting materials.
- Curated by Ontario Services, the Videos: Indigenous Voices on Treaties includes Indigenous speakers who share their knowledge about the importance of treaties, treaty relationships, and rights.
In honour of Inuit Day, Trent University's School of Education curated a list of relevant resources.
In honour of National Indigenous Veterans’ Day and Remembrance Day, below are a selection of resources:
