We'll be at the Timber Processing and Energy Expo in September !

Gilbert Sales team will be participating in the Timber Processing and Energy Expo in Portland, OR  September 25 to 27.

We invite you to come visit us during the week and meet with our team. Gilbert will be bringing a Planer to the booth and will be presenting its latest intelligent features.

We are also proud to have supplied a Gilbert Planer and worked with the Man of the Year 2024, Andy Pollard, who will be celebrated during the week.

Gilbert 4.0 Planer

Gilbert and Sicam have partnered together to bring the planer technology to the next level.

Sicam Systems have been experts in Lumber Size Control for over 30 years.

Sicam have been offering Lumber Size Control sensors at the infeed and outfeed of the planer, in order to compare size and ajustment results.

Together as a team, Gilbert and Sicam are moving one step forward towards the intelligent planer, now offering closed loop size control solutions on many of the planer adjustments.

Gilbert Planer Installation in California !

Gilbert is extremely thankful for their long-term valuable partership with Sierra Pacific Industries. 

This May, the Gilbert Service team travelled to Anderson, California to install the 8^th Gilbert Planer with SPI. The mill went with a Gilbert High Speed Planer and Splitting Module, along with the Gilbert GRIP technology (Gilbert Roll Intelligent Positioning).

Vaughn and Red Emmerson and team, opted for the Pull-Through technology, guaranteeing the highest efficiency on the market. We look forward to two more planer projects in Eugene, OR with SPI in the near future and thank you for your trust !

2024 start-ups in the Southeastern USA

The Gilbert Service team have recently started up three new planers in Southeastern USA.

All three mills running wide 2x12 lumber.

• Pollard Lumber in Appling GA, running decking and 2x4 to 2x12 lumber.
• Interfor in Thomaston, GA running 2x4 to 2x12 lumber.
• Cal-Tex in Nacogdoches, Texas running 2x4 to 2x12, 4'' lumber, up to 24' length.

Acon Timber Inauguration Day

On April 19^th 2024, Gilbert participated in the Grand Opening Ceremony of the new Acon Timber Plant in Virasoro, Argentina. Acon Timber is a project of HS Timber Group, a timber processing company of Austrian origin, and the Belgian company Forestcape, which specializes in sustainable forestry investments.

Gilbert is proud to have supplied the Gilbert 6 Roll Planer and Splitting Module. The planer ran fantastic during the entire sawmill and planermill tour, for the hundreds of spectators from around the world.

Brazil Safari

Following the trip to Argentina, Heidi Danbrook and Carlos Moosemayer, Gilbert's Brazilian Sales Agent, visited many planermills across beautiful Brazil. Gilbert presently have 4 planer installations in South America, 3 being in Brazil : Millpar in Guarapuava, Lavrama in Coronel Dominigos Soares, south Brazil and Urbem close by Carlos's hometown Curitiba.

On Monday, the team met with Millpar's project management team for the preparation of the Gilbert Ripsaw Module installation in June. This module will be added after the Gilbert Planer that was installed in 2016. It will be used to rip the boards into 2 or more pieces and will help eliminate a complete offline ripsaw operation.
