Change to Grad Student eMail

As of April 2023, a change has been made to no longer provide graduate students Faculty & Staff email (FASmail) unless they are in a paid appointment. This was a mandatory change to align with the UBC Microsoft licensing agreement.

All graduate students continue to be provided student email addresses (cwl@student.ubc.ca). Those transitioning from FASmail may need to be directed to webmail.student.ubc.ca and to use their student email address as their username.

Faculty and staff can sponsor an unpaid graduate student to recieve access to a FASmail account (cwl@mail.ubc.ca). See: How to Sponsor Guest CWL

UBCO IT Suport for Non-UBC Devices

Hardware or software purchased directly by staff and faculty from retailers without consulting UBCO IT, may not perform well in a UBC setting. Our support team is not be able to repair or support these devices due to lack of enterprise support features, warranty limitations, and application licensing issues.

If employees do not qualify for CRP equipment or require additional devices for hybrid work, please contact us for advice.

Need help connecting to UBC wifi?

If you have not been on campus for an extended period of time, or updated your CWL password recently (CWL passwords are required to be reset every year) you may have issues connecting with UBC wifi.

The UBC Autoconnect tool is the best way to get reconnected to whichever UBC network you prefer.
