PUBLIC NOTICE

The District has negotiated a volumetric right of way with FortisBC which will allow FortisBC to move forward with the installation of a portion of the Eagle Mountain-Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project deep underneath Tiampo Park.

Please visit our public notices page for details: squamish.ca/public-notices

The District of Squamish is exploring the potential of creating an Innovation Area on District-owned land within the Squamish Business Park. This initiative aims to generate proceeds from the sale or lease of land to support both the current Five-Year Financial Plan and future investments in community facilities.

To bring this vision to life, the District is inviting expressions of interest from potential partners to purchase or lease up to 17 acres of prime commercial, industrial, or mixed-use land (including residential) in the Squamish Business Park. The goal is to unlock the full potential of these lands, driving employment growth and economic development in Squamish.

COMMUNITY CLIMATE ACTION PLAN SURVEY

As part of the Community Climate Action Plan (CCAP) update, we want to hear your ideas on how we can take meaningful climate action and create a plan that enhances how we live, work, and play in Squamish.

Take 5-10 minutes to complete our survey, now available in multiple languages, and share your feedback and ideas for climate action.

As a thank you, you can enter your email after completing the survey for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to a local business! The survey closes on Monday, December 2.

WINTER PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Starting December 1, 2024, parking on select streets in Squamish is restricted to one side only until March 1, 2025. This ensures snow plows and emergency vehicles can safely navigate during winter conditions.

District of Squamish Bylaw Enforcement Officers will focus on education and provide warnings to anyone parking in a restricted area. However, vehicles parking on the No Parking side of the street may be ticketed and towed at any time to ensure community safety. The fine for impeding snow removal is $250.

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC AND NOISE IMPACTS

FORTIS BC PROJECT

Fortis BC is conducting pre-construction activities along Finch Drive. Crews will be undertaking work to help identify the location of existing underground utilities in preparation for construction of the Eagle Mountain gas pipeline.

This work will result in single-lane alternating traffic along Finch Drive. The work is expected to continue until the end of November and will take place Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and, if required, on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

CLEVELAND AVENUE

There will be intermittent single-lane closures, sidewalk closures, and detours along Cleveland Avenue, Loggers Lane, and Pemberton Avenue from November 22 to December 15. These traffic disruptions will occur on weekdays only, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., to accommodate crews monitoring wells.

Additionally, on Wednesday, December 11 and Thursday, December 12, there will be a night closure from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the Loggers Lane merge with Cleveland Avenue.

Signage and detour wayfinding will be in place where traffic disruptions occur. Thank you for your patience as this work is completed.

ANNUAL WATERMAIN UPGRADES

Watermain flushing is underway.

Flushing helps remove stagnant water and unwanted build up in the pipes. During this process, you may notice brief periods where the water appears cloudy or discoloured or has a mild chlorine taste. However, the water remains safe to drink. If you experience any of these issues, simply flush your taps by running water until it clears.
