--------------- WHAT'S NEW ?

Changes in management at Gilbert Products

Sylvain Gilbert announced today the nomination of Frank Gilbert as General Manager of the family business. He will remain President for a few years.

In order to prepare for the future, a few changes will be made to the company's governance, including the establishment of a board of directors.

To this end, he also announced the appointment of Audrey Gilbert as Strategic Advisor and Corporate Secretary.

In order to ensure a smooth transition in their new functions, Sébastien Gilbert will serve as interim Production Director and will remain in charge of continuous improvement projects.

"I am very happy to be able to count on my children and Sébastien, my nephew, for the continuation of the company, which I believe is very important for our region," said Mr. Gilbert during the announcement to employees. He also thanked each one of them for their involvement over the past 36 years.

Frank stated, "I am thankful for the trust the team has placed in me. Proud that together we continue to make the region shine internationally and have a positive impact in our community. "

Our team at the Portland Show

Gilbert’s Sales team was thrilled to participate in the Timber Processing & Energy Expo in Portland Oregon in September.

It felt good to visit with so many customers and friends from the industry.

The Gilbert Planer and Splitting Module, displayed at the booth, attracted the eye of many during the event. Many visitors were interested in the possibility of splitting their wide lumber into 2 or more 2x4s.

This Planer then traveled across the country to its new home at Langdale Forest Products in Valdosta, Georgia.

A Gilbert High Speed Planer for Södra, Sweden

This summer, our Service team traveled to Sweden to install a second Gilbert Planer at Södra Varo.

Sodra had already been running a Gilbert High Speed Planer for many years.
For the recent installation, Södra opted for the Gilbert High Speed 1200 mpm Planer and Splitting Module with its most recent features.

This planermill upgrade project is lead by Gilbert’s Swedish partner, CGV Gunnarsson. CGV offered a turnkey solution to the customer with their state-of-the-art mechanical and automation equipment.

A third planer installation in Brazil

In October, Gilbert’s production team finalized the fabrication of a Gilbert S Series Planer and got it ready for a long journey to AMATA in Parana Brazil.

This is Gilbert’s third planer installation in Brazil. All three projects have been worked in collaboration with Carlos Moosmayer, Gilbert’s valuable agent in Brazil.

Gilbert’s After-Sales team keeps expanding

Gilbert’s After-Sales team keeps expanding in order to provide A-1 service to all its customers.

In Southeastern USA, Benjamin Christmas has joined the service team to work with Jimmy Porter.

Alexandre Guy has also joined the Planer team, to help customers keep their machine up to date by offering the latest upgrades and putting into service a spare parts program. We invite you to reach out to Alex to get more information.
