December 2022

Winter is here with an early snowfall, making campus and Kelowna a winter wonderland! This means we get a head start on ski season, which is my favourite winter activity for a dose of fresh mountain air. Winter is one of my favourite seasons because there are so many activities to do both inside and outside to keep me active and moving. I encourage you to try something new this season whether that be a new winter sport like curling or a Student Day fitness class at one of our community partners, SpinCo, F45, and Orange Theory. Come check out one of our Heat Varsity basketball games on December 3 & 4 to see some action in the Furnace! There is always something fun and exciting to do!

I also encourage you to connect with others during this holiday season. Go for a peppermint hot chocolate with a friend or reach out to a family member you haven't spoken to in a while. Connecting with others allows us to reset and take our minds off of studying and going through emails. Taking small moments throughout the day such as doing a mindful stretch or eating a delicious treat will also help boost our mood. I wish you all the best this season and hope you have a wonderful holiday with your friends and family. Good luck for those who have final exams! We look forward to seeing you in the New Year and will have some exciting winter activities in store for you.

All the best,
Brianna Tsui
