Level up your craft game with a free Cricut demo

If you've always wanted to create custom mugs or vinyl wall art, join us for a three-part demonstration on how to use a Cricut and its online platform, Design Space. The demonstrations will run on Wednesday, October 5, 12 and 19 from 6:30-7:30 pm.

The best part? At the end of the course, you can use the Cricut at the Nanaimo Harbourfront branch to cut out your own vinyl design for a resuseable coffee cup - and we'll supply the cup! If you can't make it to Nanaimo, we'll send the cut vinyl and the cup to your preferred branch, which means you can participate no matter where you live in our service area. This event is for anyone aged 13 and over, but space is limited.

Legit Librarian Hack

Get OverDrive on Kobo

Most of our customers know about accessing our eBooks on their phone or tablet using the Libby App, but did you know you can also add library eBooks to your Kobo eReader?

Some users prefer eReaders instead of print books and other devices because they are small and light, easy on the eyes and have a longer battery life than other devices.

If you have a newer Kobo, you can check out books directly on your device using the built-in OverDrive feature. Simply add your card in Settings, then search for books in the OverDrive menu on your device. Or add eBooks that have already been checked out on another device by pressing the “Sync” button at the top of the Kobo’s screen.
