Killaloe and District Library News and Events

Annual Library Holiday Open House – December 4

The Killaloe and District Public Library will host its annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the library. Attendees can enjoy the wonderful vocal harmonies of the community choir, OK Chorale, as they perform seasonal songs, along with appearances by special guests.

As always, the event will offer delicious homemade treats and holiday refreshments. This gathering is a fantastic way to begin the holiday season—so mark your calendars and stop by to reconnect with friends, both old and new. The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without the Killaloe and District Library’s Annual Holiday Open House.

Make Your Donation to the Killaloe Library!

The library is gratefully accepting financial donations for the 2025 calendar year. Monetary donations help us to continue to purchase books, DVDs, magazines and assist us in providing valuable programs for our community. Donations can be made to Friends of the Killaloe Library on-line via Canada Helps. Go to www.canadahelps.org and search for Friends of the Killaloe and District Public Library to proceed with your donation. Alternately, a cheque or cash can be brought into the library. Charitable receipts will be issued. The library is very thankful for your ongoing support.

Killaloe Library Holiday Hours

You can sign out library items for the holidays, including items from the Sports and Recreation Lending Library, up to and including Saturday December 20. The library will be closed from December 23 to January 1st. Re-opening on Friday, January 2 at 11am.

Saturday Morning Book Club – Saturday, January 10

Our monthly Saturday Morning Book Club meets again at the library on Saturday January 10, from 10 -11 am. The selected genre for January’s book club will be Fantasy!

The Saturday Morning Book Club is for ages 18 and up – and it is all about keeping things relaxed and fun! Every month, we pick a new genre together, and everyone gets to choose whatever book they want to read. We chat about our picks, share thoughts and stories, and talk about what makes certain books stand out. Members also get special access to the Forest of Reading Evergreen books. Plus, there’s always tea, coffee, and water on hand, and you’re welcome to bring a snack if you’d like. Come with an open mind and an enthusiasm to share what you are reading.
