Aline Silva, a Patient Voices Network (PVN) patient partner, was recently recognized with a best poster award at the Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi2022) conference. Aline was part of a team of three that highlighted patients’ involvement in health technology assessment work in both Canada and Brazil. She shared some of her thoughts on the experience:
“The conference in June was excellent and very productive. I cited the work PVN is doing whenever I had a chance, and I also presented a poster called "Direct Patient Involvement in HTA In Canada and Brazil: The Patients Perspectives," – work I did with two patient partners, one from Brazil and another from Canada. Thanks a lot for the PVN and all the support!”
Paula Orecklin, a patient partner from Manitoba and collaborator on this poster, shared how much this experience touched her:
“I just wanted to highlight how much being part of this meant to me. I was unable to finish university because my disability made it impossible. The fact I was part of an abstract at all is a great surprise. To have it be accepted at an international conference is a wonderful shock. To then have it be the winning poster is just mind blowing. This has meant everything. HTAi has given me such an amazing opportunity.”
We want to congratulate this patient partner team on their achievement!
