Dear --

We're pleased to share with community members that MLA Ma's second child, Jack, has arrived! Born 7 lbs 3 oz on July 6, 2026, he was guided into the world at 8:42PM by the amazing team at Lions Gate Hospital. ❤️

MLA Ma will be taking a couple months off to recover and help Jack get acquainted to life outside the womb, returning in September later this year.

In the meantime, our Community Office at 50-221 Esplanade W, North Vancouver, will continue to serve constituents throughout her absence. Lisa Beare, Minister of Education and Child Care, will take on Ma’s ministerial duties during her leave.

Fun Fact: In 2023, Bowinn Ma became the third woman in B.C. history to give birth as a sitting cabinet minister; with the arrival of Baby Jack, she's now the first to do so twice.
