This week's educator resources are called Removing Stigma & Stereotype, including lessons with videos and activities. In addition, there are some resources to commemorate International Women's Day, which is on March 8th.
Educator Resources:
Developed by the Stigma-Free Society, What is Stigma? (Grades 8-12) is a lesson that includes two videos, a Stigma-Free Quiz, and a Stigma-Free Pledge with a purpose to help promote greater awareness and understanding of stigma, resulting in more actions to remove its effects.
Developed by MentalHealthLiteracy.org, Module 1: The Stigma of Mental Illness contains six activities to help identify, reduce, and ultimately remove stigma.
Ontario Physical and Health Education Association's Bust Stigma and Stereotype(Grades 1-12) is an activity that evaluates how mental illness or mental health challenges are represented in the media, then rewrites the negative representations with the goal of reducing the stigma.
