NEWS AND UPDATES

Upcoming Changes to UBC Student Access to Information

Workday Student

UBC is launching a new student information system, Workday Student, in September 2024.This new system will allow users to perform a variety of actions using mobile, tablet or computer devices in an easily accessible and secure environment. It will also enable Workday HR & Finance, and Workday Student to operate within one platform, providing more integrated reporting capabilities for administrative users.

Workday Student will ensure business continuity for UBC, by using web services that will integrate with other university applications or third-party applications (point-solutions) and provide convenience and cohesion for users to conduct work across HR, Finance, and student services on a single interface and with one sign-on.

Easy to follow training and step by step guides will be released for staff, faculty and students throughout 2023/24 prior to the launch in September '24.

UBC Requiring Multi-Factor Authentication for Student CWLs by Nov. 1, 2023

Starting November 1, 2023, student campus wide login (CWL) will require multi-factor authentication (MFA) to safeguard your personal information and protect against unauthorized access.

Enrolling in MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account, ensuring that only you have access to your sensitive information. This additional authentication step will require you to verify your identity through a secondary method, such as a verification code or a push notification to your mobile device, in addition to your regular username and password.

It is mandatory for all students to enroll in MFA before the November 1, 2023, deadline. Failure to enroll by the deadline will result in restricted access to various university applications, which may disrupt your academic experience.
