Showcase Survey

The VMQG puts on a biennial Showcase that celebrates our members’ work and educates the public about our guild and the modern quilting movement. The last Showcase was in August, 2022 and we’ve begun thinking about our upcoming Showcase in 2024.

A successful quilt show is a huge undertaking and requires many people to share the load. Our Showcase can only happen if all guild members are willing to help. The first step in planning is to gather information on how we might approach our next Showcase, for example, show size, time of year, venue and member interest. We welcome all comments and suggestions.

Please take a moment to complete our brief  survey
Survey closes September 20.

Thanks for your help.

September Block Lotto

Slashed Block

For September, we’ve chosen a fun and easy modern block. A picture of the block from ‘Keepsake Quilting’ was found online but no pattern instructions were included, so we've made our own.

Please use solid colour quilting fabrics in fall colours. Unfinished block is 9 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Sew Good Quilts đŸ’•

After dropping off two quilts with the Unitarian Church for their refugee program, we took a break over the summer. Thanks to all who have donated time and/or fabric. We’ve got a few tops and backs made. With Hillary’s donation of batting and Laura Gates’ offer to longarm, we’ll have four quilts ready to gift before too long.

What’s next? Let’s create a team that can work together to identify recipients, sort donations, design, piece, quilt, bind and label.

Please let Megan know if you’re interested in being a part of Sew Good Quilts. president@vancouvermodernquiltguild.ca

Thanks again for fabric donations. We are not taking any more at this time.
