Messages from Executive Leadership Team

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day

A message from Jennifer Ahenakew, Vice President of First Nations and Métis Health

June 21 is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada. This day was created as an opportunity for everyone to learn more about the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

I encourage you to take part in the many Indigenous public ceremonies, educational opportunities, cultural celebrations, authentic culinary experiences and other events happening this weekend in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Public Service Announcements and News Releases

Virtual Primary Care coming to Saskatchewan

The Government of Saskatchewan is following up on its Patients First commitment by issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking vendors to provide virtual care services for patients who do not have a regular family physician, nurse practitioner or primary care team.

SHA CARES - Living our Values

A new program is combining culturally-meaningful practices with mental health and addictions care.

 Recognition and Appreciation

Behind every SHA Every Child Matters orange shirt is a promise: to remember, to listen, to learn, and to walk the path of Truth and Reconciliation together.

Reconciliation is an ongoing commitment to be inclusive and respectful to all Indigenous Peoples, and reconciliation only works if we live it every day.

One of the ways we can show our commitment to reconciliation is to wear our orange shirts on the last Friday of every month. Proceeds from the sale of each SHA Every Child Matters orange shirt are donated to the Orange Shirt Society.

The SHA orange shirts are only available online, while supplies last. Register an account to order your shirt from our online store, and wear it proudly!

 Staff Information

Have you completed your Cybersecurity Training yet?

Thank you to all staff who have completed the mandatory 2025 Cybersecurity Training. As of June 10th, 91% of SHA employees have completed the training.

This training is a key component of SHA’s efforts to strengthen our health-care system against increasing global cyber risks. Training remains open until July 24, 2026, for those who have yet to complete it.

Until you complete the training, you will continue to receive daily reminder emails from noreply@terranovasite.com, which includes a direct link to complete the training.

Health Care Directives uploaded in MSHR now accessible in the eHR Viewer

As of May 25, 2026, providers and staff can now access patient uploaded Health Care Directives (HCDs) in the eHR Viewer.

This functionality:

  • supports patient autonomy, providing another predictable place to find documents that reflect patient wishes and values.
  • allows for patients to share their HCD documents with providers and care team members across the province at all times of the day.
  • provides access to tools that support goal-concordant care.

Collaboration with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Advance Care Planning Program (ACPP) has ensured this achievement aligns with legislation, provincial SHA policies and clinical standards. Please review the following for the updated process:

"Having Health Care Directives accessible in the eHR Viewer supports more informed conversations and helps care teams understand what matters most to patients when it matters most.” - Dr Jenny Basran, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Quality and Digital Health
