Additional Residential Units - Zoning By-law Amendment

Bill 23 has amended the Planning Act to require local Official Plans and Zoning By-laws to permit up to three residential units as-of-right on residential properties within settlement areas that are connected to municipal water and sanitary sewer services. The amendments also exempt residential developments of ten (10) units or less from Site Plan Control.

This Town’s update to Zoning By-law 2018-65 is proposed to conform with Provincial legislation and to further encourage the construction of Additional Residential Units (ARUs) in the Town. Draft definitions and provisions are available for review on the project webpage and are subject to change following public consultation and a decision of Council.

A Public Meeting to consider this ZBA will be held on March 12, 2024 at 9:30am.
