Flight from one survivor to another, September 17

The "Flight from one survivor to another" event was created in 2011 by Hugo Desrochers, a member of Aviateurs.Québec. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the benefit of young children at the CHU de Québec who are fighting against cancer. Hugo Desrochers is a pilot for Air Canada and himself fought leukemia at the age of 29.

In the form of a day of seaplane flights departing from Lake Saint-Augustin, the event supported by an army of volunteers allows some thirty children to fly over the beautiful City of Quebec under the fall colors, thus allowing to forget, for a few moments, the disease and the treatments.

Since 2018, the event has been associated with the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, an organization whose mission is to provide all children with cancer with the best chance of recovery by funding research and supporting the development of projects dedicated to cancer. pediatric hemato-oncology.

Aviateurs.Québec is proud to financially support this event by donating $500 to the Charles-Bruneau Foundation.

Lots of RVA in the last few weeks

The month of August blessed us with exceptional weather, much to the delight of the organizers as well as the many pilots who took part in the RVA during the month of August and early September. Watch our November issue of L'Aviateur magazine for a full photo report.

Aviateurs.Québec would like to congratulate all the volunteers who gave their time to organize these RVAs and thus contribute to the promotion of general aviation.

It's not over, it continues in September (click on the image of your choice to find out more)

Aerodrome de Neuville celebrates its 10th anniversary

Already 10 years old!

In November 2011, 7 aviation enthusiasts joined forces to create the Neuville airport near Quebec City, the runway was to be operational in May 2012. At the time, this project generated a lot of interest of several stakeholders from different backgrounds who contested its implementation. The application of provincial laws, federal laws and the overlap between the two, questions that would lead us to defend ourselves in court. The legal debates made it possible to strengthen case law and were all in favor of the airport. A constitutional debate had to take place while we had to face 5 lawsuits over a period of 6 years, not easy for a start-up company.

A little more than 10 years after its creation, there are nearly 100,000 pc of buildings, 80 devices are now based there, 9 companies are based there and nearly thirty people work there daily.

Aviateurs.Québec would like to congratulate these builders who have and continue to contribute to the promotion of general aviation.
