Impulse Comes to New Jersey

 

Downtown Westfield will be glowing with Impulse, an international art installation of fifteen giant, illuminated, sound-producing seesaws that up to four people can ride at one time. Impulse returns after a celebrated visit to NYC’s Garment District in January 2020.

Beans at New York Int'l Children's Film Festival (NYICFF)

 

Catch Mohawk filmmaker Tracey Deer's debut feature Beans, a coming-of-age story about a young Mohawk girl's experiences during the Oka Crisis at this year’s 100% virtual New York International Children’s Festival!

 

A critical success, Beans was second runner-up for the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival 2020 People's Choice Award., and won Best Canadian Film and Most Popular Canadian Narrative (Audience Choice) at the 2020 Vancouver International Film Festival.

É.T.É. – Québec Traditional & Contemporary Music

In partnership with the Library of Congress and the Embassy of Canada in Washington, the Bureau du Québec à Washington presents a virtual concert with Québécois musical trio É.T.É. The group offers a contemporary and dynamic vision of traditional Québec music, combining influences from folk, jazz, progressive rock, and classical music on fiddle, cello, bouzouki, voice, foot-tapping and step dancing.

HIYA Live Sessions

 

Check out Montréal-based Liliane Chlela in this 12-hour music marathon, bringing together an all-female line-up of progressive DJs, musicians, singers, poets and artists from across the SWANA region who are shaping the future of music. Artwork by Studio Safar, also based in Montréal.

Wind instruments take center stage! Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin will conduct Mozart’s “Gran Partita” Serenade and Coleman’s Red Clay & Mississippi Delta. This will be followed by a post-show conversation with Yannick.
