Gateway Site Attainable Housing Project

On June 29, 2020 the Town of The Blue Mountains Council initiated the planning process for the Blue Mountains Attainable Housing Corporation (BMAHC) Gateway Site located at 171 King Street East in Thornbury.

Changes to the Official Plan and Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw that would allow for a mixed use development up to five storeys.

As with all planning initiatives, Council will evaluate the application and feedback from a public open house and public meeting.

Who's Eligible for the Attainable Rental Program (ARP)?

We are building an inclusive community and investing in our community to create housing stock that will attract and retain our workforce.

To be eligible for the ARP, you are:

  • Working in The Blue Mountains for an annual average of 30 hours per week or have ceased full time work but were working in TBM for 3 of the past 5 years;
  • Have an annual household or total occupants combined income of a minimum of $40,000;
  • Commit that the attainable home will be your permanent and sole residence;
  • Net assets not exceeding $100,000.
