Municipal Governance and Public Health in Canada
Municipalities act on many of the factors that influence health and wellbeing, which makes them important partners for public health. But how can we better understand municipal dynamics and processes in order to intervene at the right moment, with the right people, and with greater impact?
The NCCHPP is producing a collection of fact sheets on municipal governance. The first three examine the role of municipal councils, and of the municipal administration, as well as how decision-making processes unfold in municipalities.
They provide public health teams with reference points on when, how, and with whom to take action in their efforts to collaborate with municipalities.
