Enjoy the outdoors in a safe manner

In this period of confinement, we are enjoying outdoor activities more than ever!

This is why we would like to remind you of the few measures that are in place for the skating rinks, the Promenade du canal and the parks, so that everyone can benefit from these activities in a safe manner.

OUTDOOR SKATING RINKS

The outdoor rinks have been open for a few weeks, but some measures must be observed:

- Maintain a physical distance of two meters between people or family bubbles

- Organized activities are prohibited

- The practice of hockey or other team sport is prohibited (no matter how many players) until further notice

- The park chalets are accessible toilets only.

PROMENADE DU CANAL

We remind you of the measures in place on the Promenade du canal:

- It is important to respect the one-way traffic direction (from Pont Galipeault towards Parc Lalonde)

- Keep a distance of two meters from passers-by who are not in your family bubble

The Public Works team will make sure to provide a wider corridor when removing the snow to facilitate distancing.

PARKS

The parks remain open and we encourage you to use them!

Contrary to what was previously announced, the play modules will remain open for the season.

However, we encourage you to pay particular attention to the risk of falls and sudden landings at the foot of the slide when your child is using the modules, as the surfaces which normally absorb shocks become very hard when frozen.

Free entertainment for the whole familiy at the library

Why not take advantage of this period to discover new books, rent movies or video games, or even plan family game nights? You can find all of this and more, absolutely free, at the municipal library.

In addition to continuing to offer a contactless loan service, the library now provides access to study spaces. This access is reserved for students. Make sure you know the restrictions and procedures.

Note that the opening hours have also been modified for the period of January 11 to February 8, 2021.

A committee for seniors

The City of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is working on setting up a committee whose mandate will be to prepare an action plan as part of the program Municipalité Amie des Aînés.

Considering the importance of citizens' engagement, we are looking for two seniors who are involved in their community so that they can address concerns related to the reality of seniors.

A call for candidates is currently posted until February 10, 2021.

Do you know someone who would be a great representative of seniors in our community? Do not hesitate to share this call for candidates or to contact us to propose a candidate!
