Older Adults Population - Clinical Workshop
Presented by BodyWorks Manager, Guest Exercise Physiologist Speaker, and School of Kinesiology Faculty
The School of Kinesiology’s Director, Rob Boushel, started the workshop off with an impactful and inspiring speech giving the students positive insight on how the field of Kinesiology is growing into an exciting profession, and that building their skills and experience within the older adult and clinical population is becoming more and more essential!
Topics and presenters for the workshop included: ‘Age Related Changes and Pathophysiology’ lecture from Kinesiology Professor, Dr. Cameron Mitchell, ‘Exercise Modification’ and ‘Behaviour Modification-Brief Action Planning’ from MKIN and Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Christina Sequeira, ‘Risk Stratification and Gait Cycle’ from Lead Exercise Physiologist and BodyWorks Manager, Janelle Iglesias, and ‘Muscle Trains/Posture and Exercise Prescription Program Planning’ with Senior Kinesiology Instructor, Barry Legh.
As student development is a part of the BodyWorks’ mission, we are excited to share our successful attendance of 35 BodyWorks staff and volunteers for the first Clinical Workshop of 2020!
