Budget 2020 Consultations
The annual provincial budget consulation is happening in June this year. British Columbians are invited to share their input, experiences, and recommendations with the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services by making a written, audio or video submission, or by completing an online survey.
The Committee will be holding public hearings in 15 communities between June 10 and 21: Colwood, Kimberley, Castlegar, Kelowna, Kamloops, Courtenay, Qualicum Beach, Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Prince George, Fort St. John, Quesnel, Abbotsford and Surrey.
Online registration to reserve a speaking time is now open. The opportunity to make a written, audio or video submission, or fill out the outline survey will be available on June 3, 2019.

New ORC publication
The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC just released a great resource, Working in a Good Way, that provides guidelines for outdoor recreation groups on engaging and working more cooperatively with Indigenous communities on trails and outdoor recreation projects.
Funding opportunity!
The sixth intake of the BC Rural Dividend Program runs Saturday, June 15 to Thursday, August 15, 2019. This year, the program will be providing up to $25 million to assist rural communities with a population of 25,000 or less to strengthen and diversify their local economies. And yes, this includes trail projects!
Local governments, Indigenous communities and organizations, as well as not-for-profit organizations are eligible and encouraged to apply for funding. Read the news release for more information!
