MP ALEXANDRE BOULERICE SUPPORTS THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

» February 8, 2024, Ottawa

Alexandre Boulerice, NDP MP for Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie (Quebec) addressed the House of Commons during question period on February 8 to discuss the need for a national aerospace strategy and to highlight his support for the industry:

" Our aerospace sector is something to be proud of. It accounts for 212,000 jobs in Canada and more than 37,000 in Quebec.
[…]
Their sector is one of the largest exporters and biggest investors in research and development. The federal government has to step up and help them innovate, train workers and be part of the green transition, which is so crucial to our shared future.
[…]
A national aerospace strategy has been a long time coming. I am calling on the Liberal government to make up for lost time and take action now for this sector and its workers.
"

This speech follows Mr. Boulerice's participation in the Aerospace Day on the Hill organized by the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) in February, which he attended as a member of the parliamentary caucus ( multi-stakeholder) of aerospace.
